OH HELL YES! Zeebee, The Service Dog Stoolies Provided, Is Graduating Her Course And Is Paired With A Deserving Veteran
Hi Chaps — I am delighted to report that Zeebee has met her warrior, Selena, and the pair began their training together on Monday. They will be graduating on Thursday, March 22, and you are cordially invited to join us at Camp K9 for this special occasion. Attached is a graduation announcement with a great photo of Selena and her new “Battle Buddy” Zeebee.
I actually saw the pair late Monday afternoon. Selena was reading a book out by the pool and Zeebee was quietly resting at her feet. I wanted so badly to call you right then, but we have to wait 48 hours before notifying sponsors that their dog has been paired to make sure that the team is an appropriate match. It’s pretty clear that they’ve already formed a pretty strong bond in the first two days!
Selena served in the U.S. Navy and lives in Alexandria, IN about an hour north of Indianapolis. She’s actually expecting a child, so the next several months are going to be pretty exciting and stressful for her and her husband and Zeebee will play an important role in helping her deal with everything.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sponsored dog move through training so quickly, so I’m sorry that we didn’t have much time to share her story during her training process. I know the kennel staff is sorry to see Zeebee go because they all loved her, but the good news is that she’s going to be a terrific partner for Selena.
So awesome. I just wanted to give yall an update on this. I hope to kick off another fundraiser again soon. These dogs make such a difference in veterans’ lives and I’m glad ZeeBee is doing so well.
